Bidder Approval is to safeguard our Auctions from time waster bids. We use Bank Card details as the safest method of bidder approval, with all details kept secure with 'Stripe Financial Services'.

AUCTION WINNER

The Chicane team will send each Auction Winner a Buyer's Package with all details for settling the Balance owing & taking delivery of your new purchase. The Buyers Premium will be subtracted from your supplied Bank Card. Chicane will assist the Buyer throughout the entire process & assist with interstate transport or showroom hand-over!

Stripe Security

'Stripe Financial Services' validates your Bank Card details & approves your details to enable bidding to protect us from fake bids. Stripe will process the 6.5% Buyers Premium, only if you Win the Auction. All Details are securely stored with Stripe Financial Services - https://stripe.com/en-au

Our Classic Car Auctions from our Melbourne Showroom are Curated by choosing exactly which cars are featured, after we Check all Vehicle ID & Vehicle Ownership as a Licensed Auction Business. We certify photos, videos and write the Auction description with the Sellers final approval as correct. We offer a Australian Government (PPSR) Personal Property Securities Register result for all bidders to inspect & make sure it is clear of Finance. We highly recommend viewing any car before bidding if you can, but we try to offer a high level of detail & the ability to ask questions to help increase your decision making ability.

Detailed Descriptions.

We offer fully transparent Auction listings with as accurate Descriptions as can be  – approved by the Seller as true & correct. We tell it like it is as best we can, good and bad so you can make a fully informed decision. We recommend you phone us or send in questions if you have any queries & request an inspection.

Traditional Bidding Features.

Bidding Increments are in $250 steps. Auctions automatically extend by 2 minutes if a bid is made near the end - Anti Snipping. We also have an Auto Bid system like Ebay that enables our system to bid up to your maximum entered Price on your behalf. This means you’ll never miss out on the Car you want if you are the highest Bidder when the Auction Clock stops.

What is the Reserve Price?
'Reserve Price' is set by the Vendor & is not disclosed until met. Once the price reaches the pre-set reserve, then a banner will show as "Reserve Met" & the car is 'On the Market'.
How much is the Buyers Premium cost?
Our Buyer's Premium Fee is 6.5% including GST in $AUD of the winning bid amount with a minimum of $1,100 & Maximum of $11,800 inc GST. Example: $50,000 Winning Bid + Buyers Premium 6.5% ($3,250) = $53,250 AUD Total Amount. The Auction winner is charged the Buyers Premium by stored Credit Card Details & it is separate to the Auction bid amount payable after the Auction.
Where do I see my Bids & Saved items?
Click on the DASHBOARD icon or Register button. You then need to click on the AUCTION tab. This shows all your bids & history.
How accurate are the Descriptions?
The Description is written by Chicane Auctions together with the Seller who ultimately "approves" the Description as correct. NOT ALL descriptions describe every item or condition of the car. It is carefully written after discussions, inspection and documents from the seller and other public sources. Whilst we try to cross-examine as much as possible, with the intention of being completely transparent with the description, PLEASE INSPECT THE VEHICLE ensuring you are happy with the vehicle’s description & condition before bidding.
Can I inspect a vehicle in-person myself?
Yes. We strongly advise inspecting the vehicle. All bids are final, so if you wish to inspect a vehicle, do it prior to bidding. Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a “post-auction pre-purchase inspection”. You are obligated to purchase the vehicle if you are the winning bidder. Due diligence is the responsibility of the buyer. Vehicles are offered as is, where is.
Can I have a pre-purchase inspection completed by a mechanic?
We highly encourage due diligence prior to bidding. If you want to have a vehicle inspected by a mechanic, please contact us to make arrangements. Note that this depends on availability, timing & Owners approval.
